Maple Sage Breakfast Sausage Recipe

Maple Sage Breakfast Sausage Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup onions, finely chopped
  • 3/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 2 tablespoons real maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1/2 lb bulk pork sausage
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. Saute’ bacon until crisp.
  2. Remove from pan and drain.
  3. Keep drippings.
  4. Add the onion and thyme to the bacon drippings.
  5. Saute’ until the onion is tender, 4 – 5 minute.
  6. Remove most of the bacon grease from the fry pan.
  7. Mix in the bacon, maple syrup, sage and curry.
  8. Place sausage in a bowl.
  9. Add onion/bacon mixture.
  10. Mix well.
  11. Form into 4 3″ patties. (Make ahead if you want).
  12. Heat oil in skillet.
  13. Fry sausage about 5 minutes per side or until done.
  14. Drain and serve.
