Healthy Applesauce Pancakes Recipe

Applesauce Pancakes


  • 1 c. regular pancake mix
  • 1 T. sugar
  • 1 t. ground cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1/3 c. applesauce
  • 1 T. vegetable oil veg. oil applesauce (opt.) cinnamon sugar (opt.)


1. In bowl, mix pancake mix, sugar and cinnamon. Add egg, milk, 1/3 c. applesauce and 1 T. oil. Beat with a whisk until fairly smooth; some lumps will remain.

2. Brush a preheated griddle with oil. Using 1/4 c. batter for each pancake, cook on griddle until underside is golden brown and surface is bubbly.

3. Turn and cook until other side is golden brown. Top with applesauce and cinnamon sugar, if desired. Makes 8 pancakes.


To use a complete pancake mix that already contains egg, milk and shortening, omit the egg, milk and 1 T. oil. combine mix with the sugar and cinnamon. Add 3/4 c. water and 1/3 c. applesauce. Mix and bake as above.
