Fall Cake Recipes

What are your favorite fall fruits? If they can be put in a crumble or a pie, you can adapt them to a cake. Create familiar and new cake recipes for hot fall desserts.

Everyone loves cake. We eat it at birthdays, on holidays and at parties. It could be conventional cake or even cheesecake. Basic recipes can be revamped to include seasonings and fruits appropriate for this transitional season of the year.

Pumpkin Recipescake-fall-recipe

Let’s start with one of the stars. We carve pumpkins but we can also eat them. You can use fresh cooked pumpkin or canned pumpkin for more convenience.

Pumpkin cake
* 2 ½ cups self-rising flour
* 3 eggs
* 2 1/2 cup sugar
* 1 tsp. Allspice
* 1 tsp. Nutmeg
* 1 tsp. Cloves, ground
* 1 tsp. cinnamon
* 1 tsp. vanilla extract
* 2 cups pureed pumpkin
* 1 cup vegetable oil

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Combine all dry ingredients together in a bowl.
3. Mix wet ingredients together until they are creamed.
4. Combine both together and blend completely.
5. Pour into a greased Bundt pan and bake for 60 minutes.

Applesauce Cake

This is a classic.
* 1 ½ cup self-rising flour
* ½ cup sugar
* ½ cup brown sugar
* 1 cup applesauce
* 1 tsp. cloves, ground
* 1 tsp. cinnamon
* 1 tsp. nutmeg
* 1 tsp. allspice
* 1 tsp. vanilla extract
* 1 egg
* ½ cup butter
Fall Cake Recipes
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Mix dry ingredients together.
3. Mix wet ingredients.
4. Combine both until smooth.
5. Bake in a greased 9-inch cake pan for about 30 minutes.
6. Allow to cool and top with confectioner’s sugar.

You can adapt this cake and fold pieces of apple into the batter instead of using the applesauce.

Spice Cake

This is another classic. You can buy a box mix or craft one from scratch.
* 2 ¼ cup flour
* 1 1/4 cup sugar
* 2 eggs, beaten
* 1 tsp. allspice
* 1 tsp. vanilla extract
* 1 tsp. cloves, ground
* 1 tsp. nutmeg
* 1 tsp. cinnamon
* 1 tbsp. baking powder
* 1 cup milk
* ½ cup butter or margarine

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Grease two 9-inch layer cake pans
3. Combine dry ingredients together
4. Mix butter and vanilla until creamy. Add about 2 tablespoons milk.
5. Mix with dry ingredients.
6. Add eggs one at a time and remaining milk. Combine completely and pour into pans.
7. Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
