Slim Jim Sandwich An easy to make ham-and-cheese grilled sandwich with lettuce, tomato and dressing.
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, softened
1 (6 or 8-inch) hoagie or sub-style sandwich roll
6 oz. thinly sliced Virginia baked ham
3 oz. thinly sliced natural Swiss cheese shredded lettuce
4 thin tomato slices Thousand Island dressing French Fries dill pickle spears
1. Preheat grill.
2. Butter split rolls and place on grill to toast until lightly browned. Remove from grill/griddle and assemble sandwich: Heel of bun, ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato, Big Boy Sauce or Thousand Island dressing on inside of crown.
3. Place assembled sandwich on grill; press down with heavy metal or cast iron pan; grill until cheese melts.
4. Serve with French fries and dill pickle spears on the side.
